COOKEVILLE, Tenn.— Aphena Pharma Solutions today announced that it has acquired an additional 54,000-square-foot facility adjoining its current 110,000-square-foot facility in Easton, Md. Aphena bought the property from Konsyl Pharmaceuticals after Konsyl decided to devest the facility in 2019.
Building renovations and the installation of new equipment have already begun, with an estimated completion date of October 2020. Aphena currently employs 150 full-time workers and plans to add an additional 100 jobs at this location over the next two years. The acquisition of the Konsyl property plus the planned renovations represent a $12.5M investment by Aphena in the Easton facility over the past 12 months.
"This new facility will allow Aphena to own 27 acres, establishing a long-term pharmaceutical campus for all future growth needs," said Eric Allen, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Aphena. "And, since it was formerly a pharmaceutical facility, it's a perfect fit for us with blending and packaging suites all supported by a large, climate-controlled warehouse."
"We've seen very good growth rates in the past two years, and we anticipate future growth," said Aphena CEO Shawn Reilley. "We want to be proactive instead of reactive. By acquiring this property, we have the additional manufacturing and packaging space Aphena needs to build for purpose for future projects."
